Your Socio Network Can Be Your Saviour In Emergency

A hurricane hit place would be down with phone lines, jammed mobile networks and power cut, so how do you seek help help just with your mobile phone?
With social networking sites, like, Ning, Twitter and MySpace that happen to be mobilized, you can SMS for your help or update yourself with the latest on the disaster reach or relief. Recently, when the hurricane had hit the US coast, these websites were of tremendous help as they reached to the masses, working like a sound and big emergency broadcast system.Cerado that reach mobiles, blogs and iPhones with its Hurricane Gustav Mobile Resource Guide set up, update users with the nearest available list of the resources for aid, evacuees and places to shelter themselves. In fact, many individuals had come out for the rescue of New Orleans also when they were stuck in a similar situation by offering the resources to eliminate the fuss and chaos created by the disaster following such a medium.
During this, the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency had tapped into the user base of MySpace and Facebook that count in millions and linked individual pages to the alert system using MySpace. Users at Facebook created groups for guiding how to help and reach the help. Micro bogging service, Twitter that provides SMS service was of great help for those who wanted to enquire about the state of their residential amenities from the people who were still there in the area hit or to get the clean up help for all the messed.
People kept a track of the direction of the hurricane from Google Earth and Craiglist, a classified site sold out the necessary items, like generators and others as demanded then. But the best of all was offered by hurricanes08.org that provided all these diverse services under one roof.
In such an ugly hour of crisis, when there was a major power and telecommunication service loss, it can't be ensured that the information from these sites reached to the areas hit effectively but were definitely a relief in the air of sigh, to an extent.

Restricted Internetship

With the exploding and bizarre statistics of 137 million internet users, China is the next hotspot for the social networking websites such as, MySpace, Orkut and Facebook. But any such penetration to thoe world's largest Internet Black Hole is restricted greatly by their government in order to ensure decorum of the nation.Websites like Xiaonei, Kaixin, 360quan.com are the local social networking websites of China that have beaten Myspace, facebook and many more despite the strong attempts of the latter to rule the web world there. The very prime reason for this failure is the restricted internetship by the Chinese government to the users as they are not allowed to discuss or raise any political matters on such networks or make any remarks in regards for the same. Such kind of a Political censorship is like a bugbear for all such social networking sites where the core foundation is laid on the idea of a free exchange of information unless its patented or copyrighted or porn.
Myspace has localized itself into Myspace China, in terms of language and technology, but still seems to have relinquished itself to the local competitors. This is ensured by the Chinese Routing System by interrupting the website or downtrading it by slowing down the speed of it . The reason being the free exchange of ideas, that is not permissible by the Chinese government. How do these non Chinese native social networking sites localize themselves in the country is a mystery that is yet to be unveiled?

ALERT : Your Social Networking Accounts Are Your New selection criterian

Recent studies cite that nearly 20% employers have started hiring employees after they have scrutinized all their accounts with different social networking sites like orkut, facebook and Myspace, etc. in order to judge their future employees' morals and ethics. Yes, employers have finally done the unthinkable (and, for many, unethical) practice of encroaching into the personal lives of their prospective employees. Uncalled for? Cheap corporate strategy? Callous attitude of the management? Call it what you want, but it's happening, and happening very rapidly at that. The kind of messages and comments exchanged, language used, photographs and videos uploaded say a lot about a person's approach, attitude, responsibilities, seriousness, intellect level, sensitivity, interests, strengths and weaknesses that are real and come first handed, unlike a person stating it all for an interview coming with the prime motive of getting the job.

But just like every coin has two dimensions to it, what about the employee side, is it justified for them at all? Isn't anything that I do apart from my work called my personal life, and someone else poking his nose into it is definitely offensive to me. considering the latest parameters can surely not determine or predominate my dedication and level of sincerity but can only give me copious reasons to be upset.

Everything brings its own pros and cons with it, and soon people adapt themselves to the latest either by surrendering to the same or by finding an easy way out. Here also, people have an easy option to keep such employers at bay by changing the settings to private or visible only to friends. One can also choose to filter out the content regularly, mention your achievements and maybe ask your friends to give you some nice and decent comments for the same.

Parry off your E - Networking blues with SocialU!

When I first got to know about SocialU, I perceived it to be on the similar lines of other social networking sites like orkut, facebook, myspace, friendster and was not very keen to explore it further. However, I was instantly attracted to this irresistible feature that offered me an ultimate access to all the social networking sites I'm connected to! Yes, its true. you can ''stay connected under one roof'' with practically everything. I mean there is no need to log in separately to any networking site you are membered with in order to check your regular posts, comments, updates and status. I will be visible in my entire e-social circuit via this single application.
Downloading SocialU is as simple as downloading any other messengers and then you are all set to go!
After the installation, one can create a profile mentioning all social networking sites he is part of.
Now hereafter, each time you click on the name of the networking site, the link to it is opened for you in another tab.

With multiple social networking sites and their varied offerings, we can indeed say that social networking has boomed like never before. Categorically, it's difficult to define user needs with only one such site and thus, with multiple sites multiple needs are served. However, after a point, it becomes tedious to maintain all these multiple accounts and this is where applications SocialU come to your rescue acting as connecting factor that binds all your accounts on different social networking sites with it.

It's not just any other application, it's more like a browser that is personalized with varying needs, offering users like us to comment, blog, share any webpage, apart from the general posts and opinions in the community. The best part is you can make your near and dear ones not living with you feel that extra special by sending them gifts via this medium, it becomes easier for people with the paypal account. That's not all, you are rewarded for each activity you engage in here.

Personally , I find SocialU to be a very resourceful application in all terms, giving me independence from the chaotic open ups of different accounts on multiple sites differently. I don't think anything could have bettered it, it's perfect for a social geek!
